The art and science of designing for people

01 — Understanding people

Humans are fascinating (at least I think so!). We have biases, beliefs, motivations, and memories; all of which shape how we interpret situations and respond to changes.

By listening to, researching, and understanding how people process information, interact with others, and make decisions, we’re able to envision more impactful experiences that engage, include, and inspire.

02 — Shaping the environment

We all know how frustrating it can be to enter a situation that is unclear, confusing, or unnecessarily complex.

It’s time to rethink how we use technology, systems, and processes to make environments work for our people, not the other way around. Through practical techniques and strategic environmental design - be it physical, digital, or systemic - we can remove unnecessary barriers and spark the desire to do things differently.

03 — Storytelling, visually

Getting messages across in a clear, concise way can be difficult with words alone - not to mention a little boring!

By using visual elements to present information, we’re able to more effectively convey messages, create meaning, evoke emotion and inspire change.

Behaviors are never right or wrong, but they are always meaningful.

A snapshot of the science

The fields of social and behavioural psychology, design thinking, change management and graphic design provide a wealth of evidence-based learnings that can be practically applied for optimal impact and enhanced experiences.

As an avid reader, researcher, and user of these techniques I love to share what I learn with others! You can find the below and more on my instagram and LinkedIn pages.
